What can red or white wine be used for other than drinking and cooking?

I am trying to write a press release for a friend who imports really excellent french wines – the angle of the story is “10 things to do with the nasty wine you were given for Christmas” – I only have 5 at the moment which include potting cheese, sweating out a cold and making mustard! Any ideas most appreciated.
White wine makes an excellent glass cleaner, especially when used with newspaper, rather than a cloth or squeegie. The alcohol content of most White Wines is also high enough to be used to wash and sterilise wounds.
Red wine contains substances with antioxidant and exfoliating properties, and so can be very good for the skin and complexion. Try soaking large spinach or tea leaves in the wine overnight for a cheap and effective facepack (though I’d advise washing thoroughly afterwards to prevent the ‘old soak’ aroma).
Hope this helps
